#NCSpecial: Adaari to officiate Kotoko-Karela Tier-One final

Tamale-based Fifa referee, Abdul Latif Adaari will officiate the Normalization Special Cup Tier-One competition final between Asante Kotoko and Karela United.

The match, which will be the determiner of Ghana’s representative for the 2019/20 Caf Champions League, is scheduled for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, June 23.

Adaari, 30,  will be flanked on the lines by Tijani Mohammed and Alex Annin as assistant 1 and 2 respectively.

Wiseman Ghansah has also been appointed the fourth referee.

Asante Kotoko defeated Hearts of Oak via penalty shootouts to reach the final while Karela United also caused a major upset by beating AshantiGold 1-0 in Obuasi last Sunday.

The winner of the of the Tier-One final, aside the Caf Champions League slot, also takes home GH¢100,000 as prize money. As part of an innovation by the Normalization Committee, an extra of the same amount has been earmarked specifically for the winning team.

The runners-up will also receive GH¢50,000 each for the club and its players.
