Striker Paul Ayongo has expressed his delight at helping Paços de Ferreira return to the Portuguese top flight.
The 22-year-old, who played a key role for his side, could not hide his excitement while reflecting on the Liga promotion feat.
“It was a very good campaign and we topped a league full of interesting teams. There’s no way you can hide this feeling; I’m very happy.
“For me, it’s an uplifting journey and I will continue to do my best in the Primeira Liga next season,” Ayongo said.
“The opportunity to contest with the big boys is here and I can’t let it slide, definitely there’s more to be done and I’m ready for it,” he added.
Paul Ayongo is a product of one Ghana’s best youth teams Charity Stars, a lower division side in Accra that has produced players for the national teams including Emmanuel Boateng and Eric Ayiah.
