#NCSpecial: Hearts to host Kotoko in semis clash

Asante Kotoko have set up a tasty semifinal clash with arch-rivals Hearts of Oak after finishing second in Premier A of the ongoing Normalization Special Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors had held on to top spot until AshantiGold cleared their rescheduled final game with a 3-0 thumping of XI Wonders away in Nkoranza Friday morning.

The victory sends the Miners top of the zone with 23 points, one more than Kotoko who will now settle for second position. Both sides this advance to the last four.

The competition rules sets Kotoko up for a clash with the Phobians who finished top of the Premier B log.

The Hearts-Kotoko clash will be a one-off fixture earmarked for the Accra Sports Stadium on June 16.

AshantiGold await their opponents – the second-placed team from Premier B – for the other semifinal fixture. The game will be played at the Len Clay Stadium on June 15.

The ultimate winner of this competition, exclusive to Premier Clubs, will represent Ghana in the 2019/20 Caf Champions League.

Meanwhile, the top four clubs from Premier A and B are set to be pitted against others from Tier 2 (Division One) to battle for a Caf Confederation Cup ticket.
