#NCSpecial: Liberty sweep past sorry Dwarfs

Emmanuel Addo struck twice as Liberty Professionals put aside a troubling start to record an emphatic 4-0 win over Ebusua Dwarfs at Carl Reindorf Park on match-day 2 of the Normalization Committee Special Cup Wednesday.

The Scientific Soccer lads, with much potential, needed to make a statement after losing 3-1 at WAFA on the opening day. And they were initially put in the mood by a Kwadwo Addai own goal before strikes from Emmanuel Addo and Benjamin Eshun sealed the rout.

Dwarfs fell behind on the 14th minute after Addai’s effort to defend an attack ended up in his own net.

Liberty continued their dominance on the results by increasing their tally on the 22nd minute through Emmanuel Addo’s 24th minute strike after being set up by Elvis Kyei Baffour.

With the first half drawing to an end, Dwarfs goalkeeper Issah Razak received a red card for a dangerous tackle on Kyei Baffour. The resulting free kick could not improve the scoreline. Liberty 2-0 Dwarfs for the break!

The second forty-five minutes was same for the home team who were enjoying a numerical advantage. And they made it count with Emmanuel Addo netting again on the 73rd minute.

Benjamin Eshun capped it off with 10 minutes more to end the contest.

4-0 for Liberty, their first win of the campaign and up next is a regional derby against Inter Allies also at the Carl Reindorf Park. For Dwarfs, it’s now zero wins from two games.
