Mubarak Wakaso says the Black Stars are “ready to do our best” when Ghana host Kenya in their final 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying at home to Kenya.
Coach Kwasi Appiah’s side welcome the Harambee Stars to the Accra Sports Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is at 6pm.
The Black Stars suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Kenyans in the reverse fixture last year, thanks to a 40th minute own goal by defender Nicholas Opoku.
The Deportivo Alaves midfield enforcer is confident the four-time Africa champions will pick the maximum three points.
“It is always a pleasure to be in front of our people. Everything is in order, we are doing well.
“You can see how we trained today; it shows that we are all ready for Kenya.
“I will not take it as revenge because it is in the group stage and we had to take it match after match.
“It is just the last match and we are going to do our best for the nation.”
The Black Stars started their preparations at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday.
18 outfield players and three goalkeepers reported for the first training session under the tutelage of head coach, Kwesi Appiah.
The two countries have already qualified for the continental tournament to be staged in Egypt in June.
