Caf CC: Kotoko not giving up yet – Annan

Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Felix Annan has vowed the team will go all out for victory in their final group game at ZESCO United next Sunday in order to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup.

The Ghanaian giants failed to grab a golden opportunity to seal the ticket when they hosted Al-Hilal in a 1-1 stalemate in Kumasi on Sunday.

Kotoko needed a late equalizer through Songne Yacouba to secure the point after Waleed Hamid opened the scoring for the Blue Waves 32 minutes into the game.

Annan believes that qualification is still possible, urging the supporters to rally behind the team ahead of their last group game against ZESCO United.

“It [did not go] the way we wanted but this is football, there is still hope.

“We are not giving up yet. We’re going to Zambia for the last game and there we are going to give our best to win so we make it to the next round,” he told Oyerepa FM after the game.

Only a win against ZESCO United will see Akonnor’s charges qualify to the quarterfinals. The Zambians are at the bottom of Group C and will only be playing for pride next Sunday, March 17.

Nkana FC lead Group C with 9 points. Al-Hilal come second with 8 points. Kotoko are third on 7 point, while ZESCO United are bottom with 4 points.
