Caf CC: Hilal in Ghana to beat Kotoko – coach

Deputy Al-Hilal coach, Adam Salah Mohammed has stressed that they are in the country to beat Asante Kotoko in their match day five Group C fixture of the 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup Sunday afternoon.

According to him, the Sudanese giants are well-conditioned to pick all three points despite the conundrum nature of the showdown at the Baba Yara Stadium.

“We know Asante very well, very respected in Africa. We are here to beat them, yeah I’m sure.

“On our way from the Airport, the supporters were saying they will beat us 3 but it won’t be easy.

“We are not afraid, no fears. Hilal is also big in Africa,” he said to Oyerepa FM on arrival in Kumasi.

The North Africans are fond of playing their games in the evening, but Salah indicated that his charges will not be affected playing under the scorching sun in the afternoon.

“The weather in Sudan is hot and Ghana is hot, it’s very good for football.

He also said that they are hoping to get fair officiating from the referees appointed to handle the crucial tie.

“We are praying for a good day and a good day for the referee as well,” he added.

Al-Hilal lead the Group with 7 points, one more than the Porcupine Warriors, who are second on the log.

Kotoko are yet to drop points at home in the campaign and would be hoping to add the visitors to their casualties, whilst Al-Hilal is the only club to have earned a point away in Group C.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT.
