Caf CC: Kotoko not under pressure to beat ZESCO Utd – Annan

Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Felix Annan is adamant the team is not under immense pressure to beat ZESCO United at home in their second game in Group C of the 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup.

According to him, he and his colleagues have mental fortitude to absorb any internal and external pressure despite their opponent’s threat in Wednesday’s encounter.

Kotoko go into the duel from a 1-0 defeat in their first game whilst, ZESCO United were 2-0 winners over compatriot Nkana FC.

Speaking at a pre-match conference on Tuesday, Annan indicated that the Porcupine Warriors are focused to subdue ZESCO for all three points.

“It’s normal. As a footballer, if you play for Kotoko the expectations are always high and for us as players, we’re aware of that especially after losing our first game. We know that it’s victory that can bring us back on track in this group.

“So, talking about pressure from management and supporters, it is normal. If you want to be a big player that is the thing you’ve to go through. We’re aware but we’re not thinking about that. We are rather letting it be a big motivation for us.

“We know that only victory can solve that problem. We’re determined to give our two hundred per cent tomorrow. Hopefully, we will get all three points and get back on track in the group.

“We lost our first group but it wasn’t bad performance. We know the importance of the game and to our supporters as well. We’ve prepared very well for the game and are very focused,” Annan noted.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
