Caf CC: Kotoko vs ZESCO Utd match time changed to 4pm

The Confederation of Africa Football (Caf) has agreed to change the kickoff time of Asante Kotoko’s second game against ZESCO United in Group C of the 2018/19 Confederation Cup.

The game was initially scheduled to start at 13:00 GMT on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi but has been moved to 16:00 GMT, according to Kotoko’s deputy Accra representative Nana Kwame Dankwah.

This came as a result of the Porcupine Warriors’ request to Caf to have the match time changed because of the inconvenience the set time poses to its fans who will naturally be at their workplaces.

Speaking to Light FM Friday night, Dankwah confirmed the Normalization Committee of the Ghana FA has informed management of Kotoko that, the Caf has granted their request and it is left with official communique which is expected to be out Saturday.

“We [Kotoko] cannot do without our supporters. The kickoff time was going to be problematic for us because it’s a working day although we had a plan B.

“We wrote through the Normalization Committee to Caf to have the time changed. This evening we have been informed by the Ghana FA that our request has been granted.

“Caf does not work on Fridays so hopefully on Saturday, we’ll receive official letter from Caf confirming it. The game is now 4pm on Wednesday and that’s official,” he stated.

On Tuesday, the management announced a community outreach program in a bid to mobilize supporters for Wednesday’s clash against ZESCO United.

The program, which began on Friday, saw some management members and supporters leadership visiting some business places in the Kumasi metropolis to rally for supporters. They are expected to continue on Monday.

Kotoko will be hoping to secure a victory over the Zambians to breathe life into their campaign having lost 1-0 to Al Hilal in their first group game at Omdurman.
