Ayew strikes as Fenerbahce return to winning ways

Ghana forward Andre Ayew netted his third Turkish Super Lig goal to help Fenerbahce defeat Alanyaspor 2-0 at home on Sunday.

The 28-year-old fired home from just outside the box after receiving a delightful pass from Mauricio Isla on 19 minutes.

Ayew’s opener was followed by a Michael Frey goal twelve minutes later which gave the Yellow Canaries a needed cushioning to hold and complete their return to winning ways in the Turkish league.

Fenerbahce had gone six league games (4 draws, 2 defeats) without victory since beating Atiker Konyaspor on September 16. It was also the first tie the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium outfit won two official matches in a row in the ongoing 2018/19 campaign. They defeated Anderlecht in the UEFA Europa League last Thursday.

Black Stars return

Andre Ayew took to social media to express his delight in scoring again before his return to international duty after over 14 months out.
