Kotoko in talks with ASEC Mimosas for Nov. 13 friendly

Asante Kotoko are close to securing an international friendly date with Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas, Footy-Ghana.com is informed.

Should a deal be sealed, the Abidjan-based Ivorian Ligue 1 champions will make a short road trip to the Western region to face the Porcupine Warriors at the Essipong Stadium on Tuesday, November 13.

The date with Kotoko will thus come three days after their league game away to rivals Africa Sports.

ASEC are struggling in the ongoing 2018/19 Ligue 1. They lie 11th position with 10 points after nine games on the 14-team league table.

Kotoko, this week, are moving camp to Takoradi to intensify preparations for their campaign in the 2018 Caf Confederation Cup which kicks off later this month.

Footy-Ghana.com further understands that the Kotoko management is also hoping to reach an agreement to host a Togolese club [name under wraps] at the Baba Yara Stadium on November 18.

The 2017 MTN FA Cup holders are yet to know their opponents for the preliminary stages of the Confederation Cup despite Caf holding a draw for the competition last Saturday.

Asante Kotoko, who are eyeing an improved spell in the upcoming edition of the Caf Confederation Cup after an early exit from the last in February this year, registered 26 players for the competition. Their squad includes 11 new signings.
