PHOTOS: Queens arrive Nairobi for Kenya friendly

The Black Queens, late Sunday afternoon, touched down Nairobi from Lusaka to continue preparations for the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The Ghana senior women’s national team is scheduled to play their second pre-tournament friendly against their Kenyan counterparts, the Harambee Starlets.

Ghana suffered a 3-2 defeat in their first friendly against Zambia on Saturday – a match which saw them give away a two goal lead.

On arrival in Nairobi, head coach Bashir Hayford said: “We opted to play Kenya because of our good working relationship and also because they will be taking part in the AWCON tournament like we will.”

“This friendly match will be good for us to not only gauge the standard of Women football in East Africa but to also get in good shape for the tournament,” he added.

The Harambee Starlets game with Black Queens is scheduled for the Moi International Sports Complex ON Wednesday, November 7. Kickoff is at 1300 GMT.
