Friendlies: Queens to play Zambia, Kenya and South Africa

Ghana have lined up three high profile pre-tournament friendlies to fine tune their readiness for the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

All three opponents – Zambia, Algeria and South Africa – are pooled in Group B of the tournament.

The Black Queens will travel to face up Zambia’s Shepolopolo in their first competitive test game on November 3. Coach Bashir Hayford’s side are expected to depart Accra for Lusaka on Tuesday October 30 where they will hold a couple of training sessions before the game.

The Ghana senior women’s national team will then leave Zambia for Nairobi on November 5 and take on Kenya’s Harambee Starlets at the Kasarani Stadium two days later (Nov. 7).

The final warm-up game for the Black Queens will be at home against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana after arriving from Kenya on November 9. The match venue and date is however yet to be confirmed.

Ghana are to face Algeria, Mali and Cameroon at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 17, 20 and 23 respectively in Group A of the 2018 Women’s Afcon.

The tournament also serves as qualifiers for the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup with the top three teams heading to France.
