Wantaway Jordan Ayew skips Swansea training

Jordan Ayew looks destined for a departure from English Championship side Swansea City this summer after refusing to train on Tuesday.

The Ghana international was the Swans’ top scorer last season with 11 goals as they were relegated from the Premier League.

The likes of Crystal Palace and Fulham have both been linked with moves, but so far no club has met Swansea’s valuation, forcing the 26-year-old to take matters into his own hands.

Manager Graham Potter told BBC Sport that Ayew has not been training and thus an exit would be best for all parties.

“There’s no further news on Jordan – he’s just not been here,” Potter revealed.

“That tells you that he’s not part of what we’re trying to do, by his own actions.

“It’s whether we can get a good enough deal for the club. Otherwise, that’s going to be an interesting time for him.”

Ayew joined Swansea from Aston Villa in 2017 in a part-exchange deal including Neil Taylor, with the club understood to value him at around the £15m mark.
