Own a club before handling GFA matters – Yaw Boateng Gyan urges Ghana Prez

Bofoakwa Tano director Yaw Boateng Gyan wants Ghana President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo to own a football club before attempting to dissolve the Ghana Football Association(GFA)

The government has aimed at liquidate the GFA after an investigative piece by top undercover journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, revealed widespread corruption in the activities of the local football governing body.

But the politician opines that for Nana Akufo-Addo to meddle in football affairs, he needs to own a team.

“The GFA is made up of people with football clubs who have voted for some group of people to lead them and if they have been found wanting of a crime, We(football administrators) have to deal with our people, you don’t impose people who do not have football clubs on us,” he told Accra-based Vision 1 FM

“Nothing stops Akufo-Addo from forming Akyem Royals so he becomes a football administrator. Then he can join congress and have a say in football. Until then, he has no right to meddle in the activities of the Football Association.”

Yaw Boateng Gyan was a member of the Black Stars Management Committee and led the national side to the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
