#Number12: GFA ExCo orders implicated officials to step aside

The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has ordered all officials implicated in the Tiger Eye PI documentary titled Number 12 to step aside with immediate effect pending an Ethics Committee inquiry.

This comes in a press release after their meeting on Friday June 8.

“All Officials of the GFA, shown to have allegedly committed various acts of misconduct, in the Tiger Eye PI documentary titled Number 12 shall step aside from their positions and steer away from all football related activities with immediate effect.

“The conduct of the said Officials has been referred to the GFA Ethics Committee chaired by COP Kofi Boakye to go through the Judicial Process.

“The GFA shall not interfere in the works of the Ethics Committee and shall embrace any decision that the Ethics Committee may come out with,” portions of the statement read.

It also added “that the Referees Appointment Committee has been dissolved and “that all the competitions of the GFA have temporary been put on hold.”

Kwesi Nyantakyi, who had been president of the GFA for the past 13 years, also resigned on Friday following the revelations in the audio-visual documentary exposing corruption in Ghana football.
