The Ghana Police has detained Chairman of Intervest Football Club, Samuel Ofori and one Coach Geroge Dazdie for allegedly forging documents in the unending controversy surrounding the transfer of young striker Dauda Mohammed from Asante Kotoko to Belgian side RSC Anderlecht.
Dauda, after impressive two seasons with the Porcupine Warriors, was sold to the Europeans for a sum of $450,000.
The two are set to be processed before court ‘for forging documents, change of name to Dauda Adamu to defraud and collect money unduly from Kotoko and the GFA.’
This was after the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service summoned Asante Kotoko, Global Stars FC, Intervest FC, Matisco FC and the player, Dauda Mohammed who is back home for summer holidays, to a meeting at the CID Headquarters on Thursday.
During the questioning, Dauda Mohammed’s submissions pointed out that the two Intervest FC officials – Ofori and Dadzie – allegedly ‘changed the player’s name and forged his documents.’
Footy-Ghana.com understands that the Dauda categorically denied all stories the two put acrsoss and have therefore been detained by the Police.
The confusion – how it started, settled half-way by the GFA
The 20-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors inn September 2014 from Accra-based lower tier side Global Stars Sporting Club who were entitled to 60% of his onward transfer from Kotoko.
But disbursement of the onward transfer fees from the first tranche of payment from Anderlecht became problematic as Intervest FC came into the fray claiming ownership of the youngster.
Interest FC filed a complaint to the Ghana Football Association with some documents as proof that their missing player Dauda Adamu was Dauda Mohammed.
But Global Stars, the club to sell Dauda to Kotoko, denied Intervest FC, explaining they acquired the striker from another feeder side, Matisco FC.
The saga was resolved by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana FA who drafted and enforced a new disbursement agreement involving all four clubs – Asante Kotoko (60%), Global Stars (24%), Invervest (10%) and Matisco (6%) – they were to receive specific shares from the net amount in any receipt from the Belgian club.
Footy-Ghana.com can confirm that this arrangement saw Intervest FC receive $14,000 as 10% of the net transfer fee on the $200,000 RSC Anderlecht paid upfront in order to receive Dauda Mohammed’s ITC.
