Caf CC: Paul Aidoo expects tough Raja test

Aduana Stars defender Paul Aidoo is envisaging a tough contest from Raja Casablanca in their second game in Group A of the 2018 Caf Confederation Cup on Wednesday.

After losing 1-0 to Asec Mimosas on matchday 1 in Abidjan, the Fire Boys expect to claim a win against their Moroccan opponents at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park – victory in the contest will grant them their first three points in the group stage.

Raja, on the other hand, failed to make the most of a home advantage as they were held to goalless draw by AS Vita Club at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca.

It is per this result that Aidoo believes will make the tie a difficult one.

“The game against Raja Casablanca promises to be a tougher game than the rest because of their pedigree,” Aidoo said in the pre-match interview.

“But we’ve worked tirelessly throughout last week and are ready for them so I believe things will work in our favour.”

“We need a win badly and the result, regardless the margin will be better for us only if it will hand us the three points at stake. We need the points badly to help us move to the second position,” he added.

In the other group stage encounter, A.S Vita Club will welcome Asec to the Complex Omnisports Stade de Matrys in Kinshasa in the other group game.

A win for Aduana over Raja on Wednesday will place them in a good standing ahead of their third match against AS Vita Club. The Ogya lads play the Moroccans at 1.00 pm.
