Long-serving Eric Donkor leads a list of three players whose contracts have been terminated by Asante Kotoko in the second transfer window of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.
The left-back on Friday mutually parted ways with the Porcupine Warriors, bringing an end to a seven-year stint at the club.
Donkor, during his time, won three league titles and the MTN FA Cup twice with Kotoko. He arrived as a youngster from Windy Professionals in 2011 and grew to become deputy captain.
Dreams can come true and playing for @AsanteKotoko_SC has been exactly that. Thanks to everyone who made this dream a reality from 2011 to 2018…👐 pic.twitter.com/4OxSh5R7WI

There is also winger Frank Sarfo-Gyamfi who became a Kotoko player in October 2014. He struggled to command a regular spot due to injuries. Sarfo-Gyamfi enjoyed some run of games in the ongoing this season but his output vastly disappointed head coach Paa Kwasi Fabin, we understand.
Lastly, Edwin Tuffour Frimpong, son of club great Frimpong Manso, has also been released from the remainder of his contract. Tuffour arrived in November 2015 and was sparingly used as a defender and sometimes in defensive midfield.
Another set of three players – Sadick Adams, Seth Opare and Yakubu Mohammed have also been transfer-listed. Kotoko’s management informed the trio they are willing to listen to offers for them on Friday morning.
Asante Kotoko are going through difficult times on-field this season – managing 17 points (W5D2L5) from 12 games in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.
