WATCH: Hearts and Liberty play out drab 0-0 draw

After registering a big win over Kotoko last Sunday, Hearts of Oak failed to keep the momentum going by playing out a drab goalless draw at home to struggling Liberty Professionals on matchday 11 of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians, on their eturn to the Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday, started the game slowly, allowing Liberty time on the ball and chances inside their box.

Liberty’s Francis Owusu was denied by the outside of the post whilst he’s unlucky to prevent another goal bound effort from Emmanuel Amoh from finding target, deflecting the ball out for a goal kick as the visitors cranked the pressure on the home side.

Joseph Esso went closest for Hearts, beat his first shot, unleashed from inside the box was well saved the keeper.

Esso was again denied by Kofi Baah after weaving his way through and releasing a snapshot.

Defender Robert Addo nearly put Hearts in the lead after latching on a loose ball in the box but his powerful header was calmly collected by the Liberty stopper.

Hearts returned to the second half with a high tempo and probed for chances but they were at a premium.

A moment of magic from Winful Cobbinah allowed Addo to sneak in at the back post but the left back went for goal instead of reversing a pass for the waiting Hearts attackers. Goalkeeper Baah saved again but Cobbinah flashed the rebound wide.

The game opened up in the closing stages but Liberty were happy to leave the Cape Coast Sports Stadium with a point.

Liberty’s defender William Dankyi was adjudged NASCO Man-of-The-Match.
