Juha Pasoja: Dreams FC hire Finnish coach

Ghana Premier League side, Dreams FC have appointed former Finland defender Juha Pasoja as their new head coach.

The 41-year-old Uefa Pro licence holder takes over from Abdul Karim Zito who has reverted to his Technical Director role.

Club sources say the new appointment was made necessary by the workload on Zito who needed to effectively combine the head coach role he had been occupying with his recently acquired national team job as boss of the Ghana U-17 Males team.

Zito hands over to Pasoja wiith the club in good position – at third position after four wins, two draws and two defeats in eight games.

Pasoja enjoyed a playing career spanning 15 years in his homeland; featuring for KTP-85, FC Jazz Pori, FC Haka, Hamarkameratene and JJK Jyväskylä.

He ended up coaching JJK Jyväskylä, the club he played for from 2013 until he stepped down March 27, 2018.

After a couple of weeks observing the Ghanaian terrain and subsequently signing to a deal, Pasoja was officially unveiled by Dreams FC on Friday.

“From day one, I’ve been excited to be here. We have very young and good players, and I like to work with such people.

“So far it has been interesting to participate in the training. I’ve watched two games and they’ve been very good games and results have been great.

“There’s a couple of experienced players and young talent which is good because like I said earlier, I like to work with young players and develop them to the next stage and send them to Europe. We’ll also try and achieve good results and maintain our place up on the log,” the new Dreams FC trainer said after his unveiling.

Juha Pasoja will be in charge when Dreams FC host defending champions Aduana Stars on matchday 9 of the Ghana Premier League. The game is scheduled for Monday, April 23.
