Asante Boateng blames Liberty’s wasteful finishing in Dwarfs defeat

Liberty Professionals coach Reginald Asante Boateng lamented his side’s inability to finish their chances was the reason for their 2-1 loss to Ebusua Dwarfs on matchday 7 of the Ghana Premier League

The Crabs, trailing 1-0 at half time, fought tirelessly in the second half and their struggle paid off as they secured their second victory in seven matches. Goals from Alhaji Mustapha and Dennis Nkrumah-Korsah ensured Dwarfs recovered from Benjamin Eshun’s first half penalty goal to win the game.

With two consecutive wins ahead of their Dwarfs contest, Liberty were deemed the favourites by most football fans.

Coach Reginald Boateng, speaking at the post match conference, expressed his dissatisfaction in his side’s failure to finish off the encounter. The gaffer also affirmed that it will be an important lesson as they look forward to their next games.

“It was an interesting game but I think we lost all the chances. From our game play, we deserved to win.”

We played well but we didn’t utilize our chances so it’s a very painful loss. For now, we will go back to the drawing board and learn from our mistakes,” the young tactician said.

Liberty Professional will face Dreams FC on Thursday in their next game.
