Dwubeng hands Dreams late winner against Kotoko

Asante Kotoko were left red-faced after a late goal saw them crash to a 1-0 defeat to Dreams FC on matchday seven of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.

George Dwubeng climbed off the bench to score the only goal in the 89th minute of the cracking game of attacking football at Dawu Park on Sunday.

Both sides started their third ever league clash well but the first half ended with little chances created.

The Porcupine Warriors however started the second half very strongly, looking more like the side to register the opener until after the hour mark when Dreams found their way back into the game.

The game looked to be heading for a stalemate until Dreams FC got the better of their visitors in the final minute.

A quick exchange between Leonard Owusu and second half substitute George Dwubeng in the Kotoko area ended up with the latter delivering a sucker punch as he slid the ball past an onrushing Felix Annan.

Referee Cecil Fleischer signaled a 4-minute additional time but that was not enough for Kotoko to avoid their first league defeat to the ‘Still Believe’ boys.

After recording their first win in four league games, Dreams FC climb to 5th position while Kotoko drop to 7th on the Ghana Premier League log.

Dreams FC captain Leonard Owusu was named NASCO Man-of-the-Match.
