TP Mazembe agree deals for Ghana duo

DR Congo giants TP Mazembe have moved to snap up two promising Ghanaian midfielders Prince Nana Kwesi Darmang and Najeeb Abass in free agent deals.

The Caf Confederation Cup holders chanced on the availability of the duo after both Hearts and Kotoko failed to tie them to deals despite training with them for a couple of weeks.

Prince Darmang trained with the Phobians during the offseason. The midfielder, Footy-Ghana.com sources indicate, had gone through the registration process for the 2017/18 season but something cropped up and foiled the move at the last minute.

Darmang is expected to appear before the Ghana FA Player Status Committee on Thursday after which he will join Mazembe as a free agent.

Najeeb Abass, on the other hand, was also on trials with Asante Kotoko and was part of the registered squad for the Ghalca G8 Tournament. The attacker however could not impress the then coach Steven Polack.

TP Mazembe recently cleared out all five Ghanaians – Gladson Awako, Kissi Boateng, Yaw Frimpong, Daniel Nii Adjei and Solomon Asante on their books after spending between 4 and 5 seasons with them.
