Matchday 2 of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League will kick off with Hearts of Oak’s first home fixture against AshantiGold on Saturday March 24, Footy-Ghana.com has confirmed.
The game which will be honoured at the Phobians’ adopted home grounds, the Cape Coast Stadium was initially billed for Sunday.
It was the second live game on the schedule of broadcast rights holders StarTimes but has now been brought forward due to defending champions Aduana Stars’ late return to the country from a Caf inter-club duty in Algeria.
Following consultations and assurances from Aduana that they will likely arrive in Ghana within the next 24 hours, the Premier League Board at its meeting on Wednesday agreed to reschedule their fixture with Elmina Sharks.
Elmina Sharks will now host Aduana at the Nduom Sports Complex on Sunday. It will be the Dormaa-based club’s first game of the season after having their opener against Liberty postponed.
