VIDEO: Latif Blessing opens 2018 MLS goals account in LAFC win

Ghana forward Latif Blessing scored his first goal for new side Los Angeles FC as they made it two wins in as many games in the 2018 MLS after demolishing Real Salt Lake 5-1 on the road on Saturday.

It was the hosts who took the lead on 20 minutes. Midfielder Joao Plata was brought down in the box by Dejan Jakovic. The Ecuadorian elected himself to take the penalty, it was saved but he managed to finish off for the opener on the rebound.

By the half-hour mark, LAFC responded and did so with a quick brace. Uruguay forward Diego Rossi led the revival with a sublime effort at near post.

Just three minutes later, Latif Blessing controversially finished a beautiful passing sequence for LAFC’s second goal. The 21-year-old appeared to be in an offside position when Steven Beitashour laid the ball across the 6-yard box. 2-1. WATCH VIDEO ABOVE

LAFC went 3-1 up just three minutes into the second half after Benny Feilhaber fed on another assist by Beitashour.

Rossi then registered his brace in the 81st minute before former Arsenal star Carlos Vela capped off a remarkable 5-1 victory away in Utah four minutes from time, his first goal in the MLS.

Latif Blessing was substituted in the 83rd minute by Tristan Blackmon.
