Kwadwo Asamoah not distracted by Juve contract ‘saga’

Ghana star Kwadwo Asamoah says uncertainties surrounding his future with Italian giants Juventus will not distract his focus on the team’s targets.

In about three months, the left-sided midfielder cum wing-back could see himself out of the Allianz Stadium outfit after spending six years at the club where he won five Serie A titles, three Coppa Italia and three Super Cup titles.

But Asamoah, 29, is unperturbed.

“I’ve never talked about my contract.

“For six years I’ve been playing in this great team.

“My contract? I’m happy here in Turin, I’ve never had problems with anyone,” he told Premium Sport.

Juventus are in the race for a domestic double – the Serie A and Italian Cup as well as the Uefa Champions League after eliminating Tottenham to reach the quarterfinals. These, Asamoah, who has made 18 appearances this season, maintains have occupied him.

“I just want to work, I’ve never talked about my contract because I don’t want distractions,” he stated.

French side AS Monaco are reported to have joined Inter Milan and Galatasaray in the race to sign Kwadwo Asamoah on a free in the coming summer.
