END OF AN ERA: Fianoo parts ways with AshGold

Astute football administrator Kudjoe Fianoo will be leaving office as the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Premier League giants AshantiGold at the end of February.

He leaves after close to a combined 13-year working relationship with the Miners.

Fianoo became the CEO of AshGold for the first time during the 2004-05 season but left in 2008. He was however re-engaged a year later and held the fort until now.

AshantiGold have new investors who will be taking over the club at the beginning of March but Fianoo whose last contract with Anglogold Limited ended in November 2017 says it’s time up.

“Yes, my era at Ashgold will come to an end on 28th of February, 2018. I have decided not to continue working with AshGold again,” he confirmed in an interview with Kumasi-based Sikka FM.

“I will be leaving a huge legacy at Ashgold. I have been in Africa with the club on four occasions.

“I will still be a supporter of AshantiGold,” Fianoo added.

The Ghana League Clubs Association boss led AshantiGold to win the 2014/15 Ghana Premier League.
