Aduana Stars lift Super Cup with victory over Kotoko

Aduana Stars won the GFA Super Cup for the first time after a 1-0 victory over Asante Kotoko at Len Clay Stadium on Sunday.

After an eventful opening half failed to produce a goal, striker Bright Adjei found one 19 minutes after recess when he delivered a powerful drive which flew past goalkeeper Felix Annan.

The strike remained the separating factor as both sides continued to squander numerous opportunities in the second half.

Aduana, the two-time league winners become the first club from the Brong Ahafo region to feature in the “champion of champions” game and win it since its inception in 1962.

Bright Adjei was also adjudged man-of-the-match.

Both Aduana and Kotoko will represent Ghana in the Caf Champion League and Confederation Cup competitions respectively beginning February.
