Ghalca G8: Aduana ease past Eleven Wonders

Defending champions Aduana Stars brushed aside regional rivals Techiman Eleven Wonders with a 3-1 victory in the Ghalca G8 Tournament Thursday.

After soaking up so much pressure almost the entire first half, the newly-promoted Ghana Premier League side succumbed and conceded twice in double-quick time just before recess.

With Bright Adjei’s header in the 43rd minute and a Noah Martey calm finish two minutes later, Aduana went into the break 2-0 up.

New signing and tricky Congolese winger Oba Ikama Ulitch made it 3-0 in the 21st minute of second half –  he took advantage of his pace after beign put through by Gockel Ahortor before firing a weighed up shot past the on-rushing Wonders goalkeeper George Ameyaw Kwaku.

A lapse in concentration late on saw Aduana commit a penalty which got converted by Daniel Larbi Koomson for Eleven Wonders – 3-1 the game ended.

Just like in Aduana’s opening game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Noah Martey’s superb performance earned him another man-of-the-match award.

Aduana Stars, who by the 3-1 victory seal their place in the semifinals, will complete the group stage against Asante Kotoko on Sunday. The Dormaa side lead Group A with 6 points.
