Ghalca G8: Obed Owusu penalty delivers win for Kotoko

Asante Kotoko managed to score a solitary goal to defeat Ghana Premier League newbies Eleven Wonders in their first game in Group A of the Ghalca G8 Tournament on Sunday.

Winger Sarfo Gyamfi won a penalty for the Porcupines which was converted by striker Obed Owusu on 37 minutes.

Despite their lead, it was the Techiman side who played better and created more chances in the first half.

Kotoko, who had Ibrahim Danlad, Wahab Adams and Fatawu Hamidu marking their debuts, played better in the second half but the game could not produce any further goals.

They face Dreams FC next on Wednesday while Eleven Wonders take on defending champions Aduana Stars on Thursday.
