Caen enter race for 3m euro-rated Patrick Twumasi – report

French side SM Caen have begun exploring the possibility of signing Ghana forward Patrick Twumasi.

The Ligue one club are keen on landing an attacker in the January transfer window, according to L’Equipe.

Last week, they were linked to Ghana’s Majeed Waris who features for Lorient in the Ligue 2 and have now been reported to have entered the race for his compatriot Twumasi.

Patrick Twumasi, 23, is a transfer target of Bursaspor and Stuttgart with the former having been locked in talks over a suitable transfer agreement over the past two weeks.

Footy-Ghana.com understands that Bursaspor pulled the plugs on signing Twumasi last week after his club Astana raised their demands to €3million.

The Turkish club is said to be back to the negotiations table this week but will now have to fight off the threat posed by Caen who sources say could be willing to splash as much as €5million to land the Ghana international.

He is contracted to Astana, the Kazakh Champions till 2019.
