SECOND CHANCE: Eric Bekoe begins Kotoko trials

2007/08 Ghana Premier League goal king, Eric Bekoe has been granted his wish for a chance to impress former club Asante Kotoko on trials.

The striker, who turned 31 earlier this month, popped at the club’s training grounds Thursday morning as the team returned from the Christmas break to continue their pre-season preparations.

Bekoe, currently unattached, recently confessed his readiness for any form of opportunity to reunite with the Porcupine Warriors.

He said to Adehye FM: “I’m ready to undergo trials to play for Asante Kotoko again. I really love the club and the supporters. Should the coach invite me to come and justify my inclusion, I will not hesitate to take that opportunity.”

Kotoko are in dire need of strikers and should Bekoe impress Coach Steven Polack and his technical team in the next few days, he could be handed his long-sought for return.

After a number of stints abroad since his departure from Kotoko, the sharpshooter made his way back to the Ghana Premier League with Sekondi Hasaacas two seasons ago where he scored 8 goals.

In January this year, Bekoe joined Egyptian lower tier side Kafr Elsheikh SC where he enjoyed a six-month spell. He has since been a free agent.

Eric Bekoe’s career has seen him play for clubs like Liberty Professionals, Hearts of Lions, Asante Kotoko, Petrojet, Berekum Chelsea and Sekondi Hasaacas.
