Exclusive: Wahab Adams tells Aduana he is leaving, Kotoko bound

Champions Aduana Stars have all but lost another stalwart in defender Wahab Adams, Footy-Ghana.com reliably understands.

The centre-back now looks close to a dream move to rivals Asante Kotoko on a free agent deal.

Adams has been one of the key out-of-contract players the Dormaa side has been fighting to tie down to fresh deals.

Aduana have succeeded in extending the contracts of Derrick Sasraku, Sam Adams and Elvis Opoku but, per Footy-Ghana.com’s understanding, they are certain to lose Wahab.

Our sources indicate the giant defender is following the trail of the long-serving Godfred Saka and Daniel Darkwah. He officially excused himself and left the club’s base to attend to family matters after Wednesday’s training. But in a sudden turn of events, Wahab has today, communicated to Aduana of his departure.

A couple of weeks ago, Wahab Adams professed his wish to join the Porcupine Warriors and we can state it looks to being granted as the player is only a signature away from donning the red jersey.

Wahab Adams arrival at Asante Kotoko will see him become a direct replacement for the experienced Awal Mohammed who could be heading out for a club in Kuwait.
