C.K Akonnor to return to Ashantigold only under one condition

C.K Akonnor is expected to be confirmed head coach of Ashantigold latest by next week.

The former Eleven Wise, Accra Hearts of Oak and Dreams FC trainer guided the Miners to survive relegation last season and owners of the club were impressed with his half-season job.

The Obuasi-based side are willing to keep him but Akonnor will agree only under one condition.

Footy-Ghana.com understands the former Black Stars captain is ready to extend his stay with the three-times league winners if only Cudjoe Fianoo is going to remain in his position as club C.E.O.

Akonnor formed a good working relationship with Fianoo especially in the area of player transfers and is expecting that chemistry to continue if he is to lead the club next season.

Pressure from the fans has mounted on the GHALCA boss to resign from his role at the club but it is however not likely there will be a change.

Ashantigold won the 2014/15 league but have battled relegation in the last two seasons and going into the new season the club knows things must improve.

Influential playmaker Emmanuel Osei Baffour has already left for Karela United meaning the Miners will have to find a replacement as quickly as possible.
