Vincent Atingah declared free agent, leaves Hearts

Defender Vincent Atingah has officially left Accra Hearts of Oak after exhausting his contract.

The lanky centre-back was declared a free agent Thursday when he appeared before the Ghana FA Players’ Status Committee.

Atingah spent three seasons with the Phobians.

After a challenging start to life with the Ghanaian giants, the former Ebusua Dwarfs player grew in confidence and blossomed in the final year of his contract.

Putting up some stupendous performances in the domestic league, Atingah earned invites to the senior national team, the Black Stars and was also instrumental in the B side’s Wafu Cup triumph in September.

Vincent Atingah scored six times for Hearts just this past season but the club failed to convince the player to renew his contract.

Reports claim Atingah could be heading for a free agent move to European side Austria Wien.
