Brighton scout Afriyie Acquah – reports

After his failed summer move to Birmingham City, Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah has once again been linked to another English club, this time in the Premier League.

Reports from the Italian media claim the unsettled Torino midfield powerhouse was recently scouted by Premier League newcomers Brighton and Hove Albion who could be tabling a deal in the winter transfer window.

It is believed that the club is interested in bringing the 25-year-old midfielder to the Amex Stadium and has been active in watching him play for the Turin based outfit.

A host of other clubs are also tracking the Ghanaian’s progress, but would be open to moving to England if Chris Hughton’s Seagulls do make an offer to bring him to the club in January.

The midfielder had edged very close to joining Championship side Birmingham City this past summer in a deal that would have costed around 7.5 million euros, but the move fell through very late in the transfer window.

Acquah has fallen out of favor at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino based side this season, making only four appearances, out of which only a single one has been a start. Even last season, the Ghanaian was not used too regularly by Sinisa Mihajlovic and his situation is attracting interest.

Meanwhile, Torino are hopeful of extending Afriyie Acquah’s contract.
