With the title charge gradually shrinking to a three-horse race, it’s just as tight down the bottom of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League table.
As many as five teams scrambling in a relegation dogfight with Liberty, Olympics and the already condemned Bolga All Stars currently occupying the drop positions.
None of the top three recorded a win in Wednesday’s matchday 26 games with leaders Aduana Stars and Hearts holding each other in a 6-goal thriller while WAFA surprisingly dropped points at home.
Liberty’s victory at home was not also enough to lift them out of the relegation zone.

Hearts of Oak 3-3 Aduana Stars
Hearts of Oak went down thrice and on each occasion pegged back in a three all thrilling home draw with fellow title chasers Aduana Stars on Wednesday.
Captain Daniel Darkwah drew first blood as early as the 6th minute with a powerful effort but Winfred Cobbinah equalized in the 12th. The visitors went ahead again through striker Derrick Sasraku who effortlessly beat centre-back pair Robin Gnagne then Vincent Atingah before slotting past the Hearts keeper.
The Phobians rallied back again five minutes into the second half through skipper Thomas Abbey. On 77 minutes, Nathaniel Asamoah went on to make it 3-2 with an emphatic finish before Kwame Kizito headed home two minutes from the 90. There was an 8-minute time added on by centre referee Prince Amoah.
WAFA 0-0 Gt. Olympics
Accra Great Olympics drew a massive point from their trip to the much-dreaded Red Bull Arena against WAFA SC.
No goal was produced in the matchday 26 encounter in Sogakope, meaning the Academy boys missed the chance to displace leaders Aduana Stars who gave away leads thrice to draw 3-3 with Hearts in Accra.
On 47 points, WAFA still trail the Fire lads by one. The two sides clash at Dormaa when the league resumes after the upcoming Wafu Tournament.
AshantiGold 5-2 Berekum Chelsea
The game at the Len Clay Stadium also produced an avalanche of goals as survival chasers AshantiGold secure a one-sided victory over Berekum Chelsea.
The Miners won 5-2 with forward Hans Kwoffie hitting the back of the net four times. Kenneth Owusu added the fifth while Stephen Sarfo consoled the visitors with a brace. AshantiGold are now 12th on the log with 34 points.
Inter Allies 0-0 Bechem United
Two penalties awarded, both missed in the second half. That’s how Inter Allies got held to a barren draw by Wa All Stars at the El Wak Stadium on Wednesday.
The first spot kick came by in the 77th minute after Nigerian Alozie Uwandu was brought down in the box. However, midfielder Prince Baffoe’s effort drew a pointblank save from goalkeeper Rashid Seidu in post for the defending champions.
Inter Allies were awarded another two minutes from time. And it was also squandered, this time, by Samuel Bekoe.
Medeama 2-1 Ebusua Dwarfs
Medeama recovered from their defeat at Wa three days ago to beat visiting Ebusua Dwarfs 2-1 at the T&A Park in Tarkwa.
Interestingly, it was striker Bernard Ofori, whose transfer to Zambian side Zanaco FC was announced by both clubs at the beginning of the month, who struck both goals for Medeama. Ofori has now increased his tally to 10 goals in the Ghana Premier League.

Also, defender Ibrahim Yaro who was announced to have signed a three-year extension with the Mauves hours before the match, scored an own goal.
Bolga All Stars 0-2 Tema Youth
Tawfiq Yakubu Mohammed struck both goals as Tema Youth recorded a rare victory on the road against Bolga All Stars at the Utrecht Park in Tamale. The Stars of the East are mathematically demoted from the topflight
Tema Youth, who are also flirting with relegation move up the league ladder to 11th position with same points, 34, as AshGold.
Elmina Sharks 1-0 Asante Kotoko
A Joseph Mensah second half strike handed Elmina Sharks full points in their home clash with big boys Asante Kotoko.
Now at 8th position with 36 points, Sharks reduced the difference between them and the 4th-placed Porcupines to just three points.
Liberty Professionals 2-1 Bechem United
The Scientific Soccer lads won but could not move out of the relegation zone after matchday 26.
A penalty from the experienced Ernest Papa Arko gave Liberty the lead. The Hunters then leveled the scores through Maxwell Frimpong. Striker Bernard Arthur snatched the match winner in the second half.
Liberty lie 14th with 32 points. They have Inter Allies just above them also with 33.
