Twenty-four players have been named by Ghana for next month’s back-to-back 2018 World Cup qualifying games against Congo.
The Black Stars will host the first of the September 1 and 5 games at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Ahead of the crucial qualifiers, head coach has revealed his list comprising of two new call-ups. WAFA SC midfielder Gideon Waja earns his first major invite likewise Norway-based Edwin Gyasi.
Joining the Black Stars when they open cam on Monday, August 28 are returnees Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Attamah Larweh who missed out on the final squad to the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.
Also England-based duo Christian Atsu and Jeffrey Schlupp, who were unavailable for coach Kwasi Appiah’s first game on his second coming in June, have been invited.
Captain Asamoah Gyan who picked up a knock on his Turkish Super Lig debut for Kayserispor as well as Brighton-bound striker Raphael Dwamena made the squad for next month’s matches.
