Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan made his debut for Kayserispor in the Turkish topflight as they were humbled 4-1 to a defeat by Galatasaray on Monday night.
The former Sunderland striker looked doubtful ahead of the game after appearing to injure his back in the warm-up before making coach Marius Sumudica’s first 11 following a quick treatment from the medical team.
Former Lyon and Swansea striker Bafetembi Gomis scored twice for Galatasaray with midfielders Tolga Cigerci and Younes Belhanda scoring the other two goals.
Gyan played 71 minutes before being substituted.
