Ghana’s Francis Adjei joins Vestri FC in Iceland

Former AshantiGold attacker Francis Adjei has signed for Vestri FC in Iceland’s Second Division.

The 20-year-old left-footed winger who had stints with the Black Satellites and the Local Black Stars impressed on trials before landing his deal.

“Vestri is a very ambitious club and we are working hard for success this season. Signing with the club is a great opportunity for me to grow as a player.”

“I have always believed I could do well in Europe so I am excited that I now have the chance to prove it,” Adjei said.

He scored on his full debut for the club in a recent pre-season game played in Spain against Icelandic top tier side Breiðablik UBK.

Adjei’s agent Ernest Opuni, Director of UK-based Agency Verria Limited, said:

“It is encouraging that Francis has hit the ground running. Now the serious business of turning in consistently high quality performances for Vestri can begin. They are a great place for Francis to show what he can do.”
