Scottish trainer Nuttal begins two-year journey with Hearts

Accra Hearts of Oak new technical head Frank Nuttal has started work at the Ghana Premier League outfit.

The official twitter handle of the Accra-based outfit confirmed Nuttal is now the coach of the Phobians for the next two years and is set to lead the charges for the next matches to be honoured by Hearts.

The Scottish who was officially presented to his new team of players and technical team members last week held his first training session with the Phobians Thursday morning.

This comes as good news to the Hearts of Oak fans who have been agitating for the vacant position to be filled since the departure of Japanese-American Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

Before the appointment of Nuttal, Henry Wellington had been leading as the acting head coach and will revert to his role as the assistant coach per his contract.

Frank Nuttal expressed his joy at being named the club’s new coach on his Facebook page “Very happy to announce that I have been appointed as Head Coach at Accra Hearts of Oak in Ghana. Looking forward to the challenge ahead”

Nuttal has an experience coaching in Africa as he handled Gor Mahia in Kenya from 2014-2016 and as an assistant coach for Zamalek in Egypt in 2016.

Nuttal has also worked as the assistant coach and fitness head at Hibernian and Rangers in Scotland as well as Middlesbrough and Bristol City in England.
