Official: Grant names four new faces in 26-man Afcon pre-list
Black Stars coach Avram Grant has named a 26-man preliminary squad for Ghana’s participation at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The squad has four new faces – AIK Stockholm’s Ebenezer Ofori, in-form striking sensation Raphael Dwamena, Turkey-based Joseph Attamah Larweh and Schalke 04 forward Bernard Tekpetey.
Some high profile drop outs could include Chicago Fire’s David Accam and Ghana Premier League top scorer and Player of the 2015/16 season Latif Blessing and Fatau Dauda.
Ghana will spend close to 13 days during their UAE camping and will likely feature in two warm-up games before the final 23-man squad heads to Port-Gentil in Gabon for the Nations Cup.
The Black Stars will face Uganda, Mali and Egypt at the group stage.
