Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has assured fans that the Black Stars are fully committed to winning their final two qualifying matches for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Black Stars face Angola first in a Matchday 5 clash on Friday, November 15, at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda.
Angola has already secured qualification, adding pressure on Ghana to secure crucial points. Following the Angola match, Ghana will host Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, November 18, for the last game in the qualifying round.
Though some key players have had to withdraw from the squad, Asante Twum emphasized that the team remains focused and ready to perform.
“The players are determined to put up a good performance,” he stated in an interview with Asempa FM.
“The technical team held a meeting with the players to outline the task ahead, and the players are fully committed to giving their best in these final games.”
The Black Stars, currently third in Group F with two points from four games, trail both Angola and Sudan.
To advance to Afcon 2025 in Morocco, Ghana needs to win both remaining matches and hope that Sudan drops points in their upcoming matches against Niger and Angola.
With their final training session completed on Monday, the Black Stars are now en route to Luanda, prepared to take on the formidable challenge of securing a path to Morocco.
