Angola coach Pedro Goncalves has expressed doubts over Ghana’s chances of securing a spot at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
The match will be held at Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda, with both teams vying for a place in the continental tournament.
The Black Stars currently find themselves in a challenging position, sitting third in Group F with just two points after four games.
Angola leads the group, with Sudan in second place. Ghana, widely recognized as one of Africa’s football powerhouses, now faces an uphill battle to qualify, needing victories in their remaining games and favorable results from other teams to advance..
“Ghana is one of the best teams in African football, with exceptional players, particularly in midfield and attack,” Goncalves told Ghanasportspage.
“But their chances of qualifying are low at the moment. They not only have to win but also depend on Sudan, who need only one point from two games to qualify. It’s a very tough challenge for Ghana.”
Ghana completed their final training session on Tuesday and is set to travel to Luanda to prepare for the decisive encounter.
