Ghana’s Abdul Fatawu Issahaku undergoes successful surgery following injury in Afcon 2025 Qualifier

Ghanaian international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has undergone successful surgery after sustaining an injury during the Black Stars’ Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifier against Angola last Thursday.

The Leicester City winger was forced off during the first half of the crucial match in Luanda, an injury that has sidelined him for six to nine months, effectively ruling him out of the remainder of the season.

Issahaku, 20, missed Ghana’s final Group F fixture against Niger as he returned to England for further medical assessment and treatment.

Updating his supporters on social media, Issahaku confirmed the success of the procedure and shared a message of gratitude.

“All glory be to Almighty Allah. My surgery was successful, and I just want to tell you that I am okay. I want to thank everyone for your best wishes,” he posted on Instagram.

Fatawu Issahaku’s absence will be a significant blow to both his club and country as he works towards recovery.
