Black Satellites coach Desmond Offei is satisfied with the team’s 2-2 draw against Benin on matchday 1 of the 2024 Wafu B U-20 Cup of Nations on Thursday.
Ghana took an early lead through Jerry Afriyie but were shocked by Benin, who levelled and grabbed the lead before half-time.
However, Afriyie stepped up to restore parity for the Ghana under 20 men’s football team with few minutes to end the game.

In a post-match interview, Offei asserted that while his team aimed for all three points, he was still pleased with the draw.
“With a bit of luck today, we should have gotten the three points but all in all I’m really happy with the one point. Because for me this one point is actually a three-point if you know what I mean,” he said.
“How we had to think really deep and how that penalty came, so all in all we’re very happy with the point,” he added.
Ghana’s next match will be against Niger at the Stade Municipal on Sunday, October 20, at 2 PM. Meanwhile, Benin will face Togo at the Stade de Kegue later that same day.
In the opening game of Group A, Togo and Niger also played to a 2-2 draw.
