Russell Martin confirms Kamaldeen Sulemana’s comeback ahead of key Leicester match

Southampton manager Russell Martin has confirmed that Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is fit and ready to return to the squad after an extended injury absence.

Sulemana has not yet featured in the 2024-2025 season, having sustained an injury during a pre-season match against Oxford United.

Martin made the announcement ahead of Southampton’s upcoming match against Leicester City on Saturday, October 19, which kicks off at 14:00 GMT.

The game marks Southampton’s return to action in the English Premier League following the international break.

Speaking to the media, Martin expressed his relief at having key players back in the squad: “I’m excited to have everyone together for the first time in a couple of weeks.

Kamaldeen is fit now to be in the squad, and Will Smallbone is also back, so there are a couple of positives for us.”

Sulemana’s return will be a boost for The Saints as they look to build momentum in the Premier League.
