Kwasi Appiah targets victory as Sudan face Ghana in AFCON Qualifier

Sudan Head coach Kwesi Appiah has expressed his determination to lead his team to victory over Ghana in their crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifier.

Following a 0-0 draw in the first leg, Sudan are set to meet the Black Stars again on neutral ground in Libya on Tuesday, 15 October 2025.

Despite being forced to play away from home due to ongoing conflicts, Sudan have managed to remain unbeaten in their “home” fixtures during this AFCON qualifying campaign.

The 1970 AFCON champions are now keen to extend that record as they aim for a place in the tournament.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Appiah acknowledged the formidable challenge posed by Ghana but is confident his squad can deliver.

“It is not going to be easy, but Insha Allah, we are going to fight and make sure we get a victory for Sudan,” Appiah said.

The two teams will face each other for the second time within a week, with kick-off scheduled for 1:00 PM Ghana time.
