Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey has called on the club’s fans to stand by the team after their narrow 1-0 loss to Bibiani Goldstars in the Ghana Premier League.
The defeat, which took place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday, ended the team’s five-match unbeaten streak.
Goldstars’ Samuel Attah Kumi clinched victory with a decisive goal in the 69th minute, shortly after Hamza Issah missed a crucial penalty that could have put Hearts of Oak in the lead.
Speaking post-match, Asibey expressed disappointment over the loss but urged supporters not to give up on the team.
“I appeal to the fans not to abandon us. Their support is essential, and we cannot succeed without them.
“The loss is hard to accept, but I believe things will improve as we move forward,” Asibey stated.
Hearts of Oak, currently 11th on the league table with 9 points from 8 matches, now face a challenging fixture against Medeama at the TnA Stadium this weekend.
Both teams will be eager to secure maximum points in what promises to be an intense encounter.
